Photo Scratch – a write up from Cinzia D’Ambrosi
Photo Scratch is an
interesting initiative focusing on work in progress which allows
photographers to gain an insight and feel the response from the
public before it is presented in its final format.
When I was asked to
participate with a documentary photographic project in progress it
was the right timing. In the middle of preparing for a major solo
exhibition of my work in progress, it was a great opportunity to
determine its interaction with the public and receive valuable
feedback.
I presented a selection of
photographs from ‘Hate Hurts’ an ongoing body of work that captures
the rise of racism in Europe through the stories of victims of hate
crimes. The nature of this work is so actively based on raising
awareness and possibly be a catalyst for changes that the opportunity
given by Photo Scratch to determine how it engages with the public,
what questions is raising before finalising it, is a valuable
experience. The feedback I received by participants and audience was
interesting and very encouraging.
Supported by Amnesty International Greece, Cinzia is
showing ’Hate
Hurts’
in an exhibition on the 21- 27 March 2016 in Athens
