Photo Scratch Workshop: Language for your Photographs
Monday 18th March 2019, 18:30-20:30
Every photographer building a career needs to be able to write about their work. From website blurb, to grant applications, biographies and artist statements, text is a vital tool to support and promote your photography. If you find it difficult to write confidently about your work, this professional development workshop is for you.
Touching on elements of marketing and branding, research methods, funding applications, promotion of your work, and other ideas related to your use of language, this two hour interactive workshop will help you communicate your ideas and advance your projects. It will be a chance to understand how your work is perceived, how you can communicate better and how to promote your work with greater clarity.
To participate, you will need to bring examples of your photography work either in printed form or on a laptop or tablet.
NB: fluency in written and spoken English is essential for this workshop.
Facilitated by documentary photographer and Photo Scratch founder Hanna-Katrina Jedrosz. Hanna-Katrina is also a freelance picture researcher and editor for The Sunday Times, has an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary Photogrpahy from LCC, and lectures regularly about her practice. www.hannakatrina.co.uk
